The minimalist arrangement and selection of objects according to their function in order to achieve a creative order is characteristic of Bauhaus. German timepiece maker Junghans has decided to honor the centenary anniversary of the Bauhaus school with its most fitting model that celebrates a Bauhaus legend: Max Bill, who himself studied at the Dessau Bauhaus school.
For the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus Junghans presents an automatic watch that could not be simpler and at the same time more meaningful. The max bill automatic embodies as a classic three-hand watch, in the spirit of the product designer Max Bill, the reduction to the really essential – the good readability of time.
The simple dial in a light shade of gray follows the principles of the Bauhaus architecture and puts the most important thing in the foreground: time. True to the motto “form follows function”, subtle hands, fine lines and numbers indicate the time. The minimalist elements skilfully put the purist design of the timepiece in the limelight, giving it maximum attention.
