The Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC wireless over-the-ear headset is designed to appeal to discerning consumers and audio enthusiasts who travel a lot – be it business or leisure – and are loaded with cutting-edge technologies and features for an outstanding listening experience.
The new beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC is a so-called over-ear headphone, that is, an ear-enclosing headset, which is designed primarily for mobile use on the move, thus designed as a Bluetooth headset. It is a dynamic headphone with a closed design, which, according to the manufacturer, is available in two versions, the beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC Traveler and the beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC Explorer.
However, the two variants differ in a single feature, namely the color. Both headphones offer active noise cancellation, as well as sound personalization via MOSAYC, and intuitive operation via the Light Guide system and touchpad control.
The Lagoon ANC completely adapts to its owner and offers perfect sound quality that is perfectly tailored to personal, individual listening. This is made possible by the innovative MOSAYC sound personalization by Mimi Defined. Every hearing is different and changes in the course of life. As with a mosaic, individual components of the acoustic sound are lost or faded.
The sound personalization compensates precisely for this development and adapts itself exactly to the respective hearing ability. The missing stones of the mosaic are filled up again and users can enjoy the whole soundscape again in its full splendor. And it’s easy: Simply download the MIY app for Android or iOS, create a sound profile by Mimi Defined and experience brilliant sound – in every detail.
Another important feature of the new beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC is the touchpad on the right earcup, through which all essential controls can be performed. Of course, this also means that you can make calls with the beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC as soon as it is connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. The corresponding microphone is also integrated in the right earcup and is intended to deliver a particularly good voice quality, relying on Qualcomm cVc Technology.
Also part of the operating concept for more comfort is the so-called Light Guide System of the new beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC. Various colors are used here on the inside of the earcups LEDs to visualize the operating state of the headphones. Such information as the battery level, but also the left and right channel are shown here. All this only applies if you remove the headphones. In normal operation, no bright or even flashing light should disturb your listening experience.
The integrated battery is a lithium-polymer battery with 1,100 mAh and should allow a playing time of up to 45 hours via Bluetooth without activated ANC. With Active Noise Canceling – (ANC), the headphones should last up to 24.5 hours.
In addition to innovative functions and technologies, the Lagoon ANC also convinces in terms of design, material and workmanship. The ear-embracing memory foam padding is covered with artificial protein leather, making it particularly comfortable to wear.
The ear cushions and the analogue AUX audio cable can be easily replaced at any time when needed. To avoid wear and tear, the Lagoon ANC can be folded compact and flat and stored in a stylish, practical hard case. At 283 grams, the headphones are also light and easy to stow in any pocket. Regular software updates also keep the headphones technically up to date.
The beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC is competing with the other premium ANC headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM3 and Bose QuietComfort 35.
The beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC is now available in the “Traveler” version (black) at a suggested retail price of € 399, while the “Explorer” (gray / brown) version will be available in the online shop from May. Both color versions will also be available in stores soon.
