Samsung has introduced the first television that is explicitly designed for the presentation of content from mobile devices. It also means that the television marketed as “The Sero” brings a rotatable holder to be vertically aligned. Ultimately, videos and other contents of services such as Instagram will be presented in an optimal way.
The Samsung “The Sero”, which is also referred to as “The Vertical” will initially be available only in South Korea. The TV has a screen diagonal of 43 inches, uses the QLED technology and comes with a special stand, which allows a rotation of 90 degrees. This allows the device to be used in classic horizontal operation but also vertically if required.
Samsung wants to market the device especially millennials, where the consumption of vertical video content is abundant on their mobile devices. The manufacturer also advertises that the contents of smartphones can be quickly and easily put on the TV by using the pairing functions such as NFC. Games, videos, content from social media and other sources should be displayed perfectly.
According to Samsung, the focus on online content is also underlined by the audio hardware of the new TV. The Sero has a 4.1 sound system with 60 watts of power and can therefore easily be used as a music player for online streaming.
“The Sero” is one of Samsung’s lifestyle TVs, which so far consist of “The Frame” and “The Serif”. The devices are equipped with Samsung’s latest QLED displays, with quantum dots in the backlight, they have 4K resolution and have HDR. The Frame is available in sizes from 43 to 65 inches, The Serif in 43, 49 and 55 inches.
