Austrian-based startup Milan Automotive has revealed a high-powered contender destined to take the fight to the likes of the Bugatti Chiron. It’s known simply as the Red.
A car against the tide. This is what Austrian born Markus Fux, 36, CEO of MILAN Automotive GmbH is doing: bringing to the road the cutting edge know-how of Austrian companies – uncompromising in design and technic – in what will be the new generation of hypercars: the Milan Red. Named after the famous bird of prey, the Milan Red is designed by a team of extraordinary specialists aiming to combine again the skills of speed record, design object and an ultra-intense driving experience.
1325 horsepower meets 1300 kilogram dead weight propelling the MILAN RED from naught to hundred in only 2.47 seconds. 0-200 in 5,46 seconds and 0-300 in 9,98 seconds for the Red, reaching a top speed of more than 400 km/h. This power explosion is the result of the 6.2 liter V8 Quad Turbo rear drive operating entirely without electric support and crafted by AVL, supplier of global automotive companies and Formula One racing.
With its carbon monocoque structure and carbon panels the Red quite light, downforce is provided by an integrated splitter with brake cooling channel up front and an active rear wing with airbrake functionalities for the rear.
Stopping power is provided by a set of Brembo sourced 390 mm six-piston front and 380mm four-piston rear carbon ceramic brakes visible behind 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged aluminium wheels.
“Nowadays you can drive an artistic car, a high-tech-monster, a throne on four wheels – or a car, that only serves one purpose: stealing everyone the show. And this is where we come into play,” says Markus Fux, CEO MILAN Automotive GmbH.
The Milan Red is named for the Red Kite, a medium-sized bird of prey in the same raptor family as eagles, hawks, and falcons.
The Milan Red’s $2.3 million list price should be considered a starting figure since the automaker claims each of the 99 cars being manufactured will be unique, based on owner wishes and preferences.
