Mercedes-AMG recently revealed the latest range for their family of vehicles – the GT 4-Door Coupé. Based on the legendary Mercedes-Benz SLS, and later GT, the 4-Door is equally a sports car, but this time with added functionality.
Sculpted with sensuous shapes giving it an essence of eternal elegance, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé continues to be identifiable inside the AMG GT family as a result of its sporty genetics.
The brand new AMG GT 4-Door Coupé will come in three distinct models with aggressive design along with a variable all-wheel drive system. The AMG GT 53 has a 3.-liter inline-six with 429 horsepower. The AMG GT63 has a 4.-liter twin-turbo V8 with 577 horsepower. And for anyone that are looking to smoke people off the line while you are getting groceries, the top-of-the-line AMG GT 63 S is powered by the same V8 but the output has been upped to 630 horsepower.
With features like six-piston callipers, variable steering ratios with active rear steering, active AIRPANEL aerodynamics, rear-axle LSD, and an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G 9-speed transmission, the GT 4-Door not only has enough room and comfort for your family, but can also churn healthy numbers at any racetrack.
“The new AMG GT 4-Door Coupé blends the impressive racetrack dynamism of our two-door sports car with maximum suitability for everyday use. It has a unique way of embodying our brand core, “Driving Performance” and with its systematic configuration it will attract new customers for Mercedes-AMG”, commented Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
The stunning proportions of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, which detail convex surfaces and a toned body, begin with the expressive, low hood that has two powerdomes on top. Its dynamism carries on on the side, where the sweeping silhouette of classic coupé design is accomplished with the lowered greenhouse. Tailored upper contours and broad shoulders define the car’s rear. Here, its athletic inclination is additionally accentuated through the pronounced rear wheel arches, sleek led tail lights and the aerofoil, which, whilst extending in several stages, is a crucial part of the active aerodynamics.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé not only provides a exclusive driving experience for the driver themselves, but also for the passengers. The inside offers a symbiosis of performance and exclusivity and incorporates an ultramodern, new kind of operating system into the atmosphere of a Gran Turismo. Two high-resolution displays each measuring 12.3 inches dominate the Widescreen Cockpit, and that is standard in the V8 and optional in the inline 6-cylinder version.
“The new AMG GT 4-Door Coupé is the ultimate four-door sports car and the ideal ambassador for Performance Luxury”, said Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Daimler AG. “It embodies a symbiosis of emotion and intelligence with breathtaking proportions and a puristic, surface-oriented design with sensuous shapes. It is both hot and cool at the same time.”
The new AMG GT 4-Door Coupé celebrates its world premiere on 6th March 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. Sales release of the first four-door AMG GT is in summer 2018. Just recently Mercedes made waves at the Detroit Auto Show, when they announced the new version of the very popular G-Class.
