It will always be impressive what some individuals do with materials near and dear to their heart. Kazakhstani Instagrammer Kanat Nurtazin enjoys to travel and discover new places, enriching the natural backdrop with his whimsical cut out art.
Creativity is the ability to create something out of nothing. This can be achieved anyplace and anytime. Many artists utilize objects which are within their immediate surroundings. Several years ago the artist from Kazakhstan started an art project named “100 methods of drawing” and describes leaf cutting as one of his favorite techniques. Kanat first chooses intact leaves, draws outlines on the leaves, and uses a razor to cut the scene. He then wait for the right moment and angle to photograph his leaf cutting creations.
“I cut leaves to give them a second life that discovers an untold story. Simply I imagine a bright moment that I want to share with my audience. I draw it on the leaf and cut with a razor. The most important thing is to find the best suitable place to catch with my camera on right time and right angle.” Nurtazin writes.
What he likes about leaf art is the fact that the leaf is perishable, much like our lives. When he works the leaves, he provides them with a second life in which they can tell a whole new story through his designs.
