The G-SHOCK reaches its 35th anniversary milestone in April 2018, and Casio is releasing several commemorative collections of G-SHOCK timepieces to celebrate the various facets of this iconic watch. For this special occasion Casio is releasing the G-SHOck 35th Anniversary Red Out Collection.
The G-SHOCK 35th Anniversary Red Out Collection is the third anniversary series following the Big Bang Black and Gold Tornado collections. The Red Out collection features an all-red matte colour scheme achieved using a new coating technology that incorporates particles directly into the paint, which creates a lustreless finish that was previously unachievable.
Perhaps the most interesting of the four from a collector’s point of view is the DW-5735C-4, based on the DW-5750 which traces its lineage back to the DW-5400 from 1985 which was the first G-Shock with a round face.
The series is comprised of four popular G-SHOCK base models — the DW5635C-4, DW5735C-4, DW6935C-4 and GA735C-4A — each featuring a deep red LCD display, black IP metal band loop stamped with stars, and black IP metal case back engraved with the G-SHOCK 35th anniversary logo designed by artist Eric Haze.
Each model comes equipped with G-SHOCK’s legendary structure of 200M water resistance and shock resistance, in addition to an EL Backlight, multiple alarms, 1/100th second stopwatch, 1/10th countdown timer and 12/24 hour formats.
The G-SHOCK 35th Anniversary Red Out Collection will retail for $140, and will be available for purchase beginning in February 2018.
