7It is Christmas Day and LOVE magazine continues its rollout of Christmas content with a shoot starring a who is who of it-models and the cast of The Muppets, shot by legendary fashion photographer Rankin.
Over the last 24 days there have been many Victoria Secret Angels, Instagram it girls, singers and Hollywood ladies strutting their stuff for the Love Advent Calendar, but none is more glamorous than its latest star, Miss Piggy.
The video begins with Rankin anxiously anticipating Miss Piggy’s arrival on set, joking: “I’ve only got four and half minutes with her – I had five with the queen so it’s nerve-wracking, but apparently she’s very professional.” The scene then cuts to Game Of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, who took on the brief role of a fierce celebrity agent.
Miss Piggy, Kermit and the gang can be seen mingling with the likes of Adwoa Aboah, Hailey Baldwin and Winnie Harlow, alongside the likes of Nick Grimshaw and LOVE editor Katie Grand. Hungarian model Barbara Palvin cuddles up to Fozzie Bear, Rita Ora sparkles glamorously in her sequinned dress and Joan Smalls has her tête-à-tête with Sam Eagle and Poppy Delevingne is fooling around with Animal. Fashion writer Derek Blasberg was then captured greeting Kermit the Frog with a double kiss on the cheek. Poppy Delevinge and Hailey Baldwin also had their moment with some of the legendary characters from The Muppet Show.
After a star-studded series of videos for the 2017 calendar, the Love Muppets end credits starred a huge number of big names – including Adwoa Aboah, Doutzen Kroes, Edie Campbell, Katie Grand and Lily Nova. Rankin, who somewhat took centre stage in the shoot, said of the exciting project: “Working with The Muppets can only be compared to working with royalty, so #LoveMuppets was a real pinch-me moment.”
Although the LOVE Advent season starts on December 1st, it’s not entirely traditional – carrying the whole thing well into the middle of January. The magazine’s editor, Katie Grand, said: “It’s festive, it’s fun and it’s everything we love about women enjoying being women, on their own terms. “All the models seem to really love contributing. Who doesn’t love Christmas?” She said the process of creating LOVE Advent is a collaboration: “Everyone talks about what they want to do, a consensus is agreed and then we handle making the magic happen.”
