Rubik’s Cakes Are A Thing And They’re Too Pretty To Eat

These are the Rubik’s Cube inspired cakes created by French chef Cédric Grolet, who was rated the best pastry chef in 2016 by the Relais Desserts Association, which is a real association doing important work in the world.

Grolet invented the Rubik’s cube cake for the Le Dalí cafe in Paris. The scrumptious creation features 27 individual pastries. Each cube is a tiny sample of one of Grolet’s delicious cake recipes. If you can’t decide what to order, the Rubik’s cake is your best friend.

As a testament to Grolet’s creativity and his experimental approach to traditional baking, the treats boast avant-garde flavor pairings like apricot and rosemary and cherry and tarragon. Additionally, the chef pâtissier has foregone the toy’s palette of primary colors and opted instead for more elegant color schemes.
