Lady Gaga is a natural born performer. Famous for her show stopping live shows, she made sure she lived up to her flamboyant reputation as she was the headline act performing at the Super Bowl LI halftime show.
The first two quarters of the Super Bowl LI had the Atlanta Falcons in a comfortable lead over the New England Patriots with a score of 21-3. As the halftime Show began Lady Gaga stood atop the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. As she sang “God Bless America” a swarm of 300 drones could be seen in the background, reacting to every move and every note from Lady Gaga. She then jumped off of the top of the roof, instantly becoming the toast of the internet’s meme-making ability.
There were rumors circulating that the New York-born singer would have injected some political edge into her performance. She was an active Hillary Clinton supporter in the US elections and was also seen wearing a “Love Trump’s Hate” t-shirt shortly after Trump’s victory. At a press conference before the show, she said: “The only statements that I’ll be making during the half-time show are the ones that I have been consistently making during my career. I believe in a passion for inclusion, I believe in the spirit of equality.”
Gaga stuck to that promise, with the performance containing no distinct political message, unlike Beyonce’s performance last year. Despite this, she still managed to wield a keytar and play a medley of her biggest hits including “Poker Face,” “Born This Way,” and “Bad Romance,” before closing proceedings with a mic-drop and catching a football in mid-air.[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txXwg712zw4[/embedyt]
